Liam Cameron - Shooting Star
The 19-year-old Sheffielder is taking part in a photoshoot for women's magazine Vogue today - only two days before his second professional bout!
Cameron, a Myrtle Springs school old boy from Manor Park, also recently jetted out to Madrid for a photoshoot with
fashion designer Prada. Although modelling offers keep coming the middleweight's way, Cameron is determined to reach the top in the ring.
Question marks may arise over whether Cameron's modelling career will impact on his boxing, but trainer Chris Smedley has dismissed this notion.
He told The Star: "It doesn't interfere in his boxing career whatsoever.
"It is only a single day Liam has gone to shoot for and we have allowed that so he can take his mind off the fight.
"Liam enjoys modelling and I just hope he gets more shoots because the more he gets his face out there, the more recognised he will become.
"We want him to get as much publicity as possible, and it is not like it takes a lot out of him mentally or physically.
"All he has to do is smile, let people put make-up on him and take a few photos!"
Cameron, a Sheffield United fan, is sparring twice a week with former Sheffield world champion Clinton Woods.
Having overwhelmed veteran boxer Matt Scriven on his debut two months ago, Cameron faces Lincoln's Ryan Clark in the Octagon Centre this weekend.
Smedley said: "Liam has been running hard and putting in the hours at the gym and is in great shape.
"Clinton has been showing him all the tricks of the trade. There is no better person to learn from than Clinton and it is great that he wants to give something back to the sport."
Other fights on the 'Christmas Crash' bill include an all-Sheffield re-match between Lee Duncan and Kyle Whitham, who drew in October, and a South Yorkshire clash between Sheffield's Jamie Ward and Doncaster's James Tucker.
First bout is scheduled for 3.15pm.
