Debut boy Cameron is tip for the top
He believes the professional debut of Liam Cameron at Sheffield City Hall will be the start of a glittering career.
Cameron, a Sheffield United fan, will be getting the backing of a fair few Blades as he takes on Mansfield veteran Matt Scriven.
Trainer Chris Smedley said: "Liam has a hell of a future, he is a brilliant talent.
"Sheffield United have been really good with Liam - and I say that as a Wednesday fan - and there is no reason why he should not enjoy similar support in years to come from Blades fans.
"Ricky Hatton took 10,000 fans to Vegas, so it just shows what can happen.
"Liam is a Blade through and through from S2 and beat a West Ham kid in the amateur final - what more do their fans want!"
Smedley says Cameron's greatest asset is his defence.
"People cannot get past his guard; he has a phenomenal defence. He is big for a welterweight yet he isn't skinny and the power is starting to come through. He has fast hands too."
Cameron is hoping to improve his boxing education by sparring with Amir Khan.
Says Smedley: "He has sparred with the likes of Clinton Woods and Frankie Gavin - you could put him in with anybody."
Cameron tops the bill which includes former English super featherweight champion Femi Fehintola against Birmingham's Sid Razak.
